What’s new here
Superpowers treats the workflow as the product. Skills fire automatically in sequence: brainstorming before any code, git worktrees before any branch, TDD during implementation, code review between tasks. The agent follows mandatory workflows.
What it does
Superpowers installs into your coding agent as a plugin and injects a full SDLC process. When you start a session, the brainstorming skill runs first, pulling a real spec out of conversation before any code is written. Once you approve the design, writing-plans breaks the work into 2-5 minute tasks with exact file paths and verification steps.
From there, subagent-driven-development launches a fresh subagent per task, reviews each one on spec compliance then code quality, and continues forward. The alternative, executing-plans, runs every task inline in one session with a single final review. A test-driven-development skill enforces RED-GREEN-REFACTOR throughout, and will delete code written before tests.
The skills library also covers systematic debugging, code review (both sending and receiving), parallel agent dispatch, and branch management. A diagnosing-superpowers skill reads session transcripts to explain when the workflow misbehaved.
Installation is documented for 16 harnesses: Claude Code, Codex App, Codex CLI, Cursor, Devin CLI, Factory Droid, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot CLI, Grok Build CLI, Kimi Code, OpenCode, Pi, Qwen Code, Antigravity, Hermes Agent, and Muse.
Who it’s for
Developers who want their coding agent to follow a disciplined process (TDD, planning, review) without having to prompt for each step every session. It suits teams adopting agentic development who want a shared baseline methodology, and individuals who have found their agent drifts or skips steps when left to its own devices.
Try it
Install depends on which harness you use. For Claude Code via the official marketplace:
/plugin install superpowers@claude-plugins-officialOr via the Superpowers marketplace:
/plugin marketplace add obra/superpowers-marketplace
/plugin install superpowers@superpowers-marketplaceFor Gemini CLI:
gemini extensions install https://github.com/obra/superpowersFor Devin CLI:
devin plugins install obra/superpowersTo verify a working Muse install, start a fresh session and send Let's make a react todo list. A working install auto-triggers brainstorming before any code is written.
