What’s new here
c11 inherits the split-pane model from cmux (February 2026) and Ghostty’s rendering, then adds a socket-based panel manifest layer. Every panel carries a JSON blob: title, description, status, progress, role, model. Any agent can read or write that blob. The sidebar renders the canonical subset. Agents can also mail each other across workspaces, open an embedded WKWebView browser, and read the full spatial layout as an ASCII floor plan before acting. Both agents and the human operator are first-class participants who can originate splits, resizes, spawns, and metadata writes.
What it does
c11 organizes your screen into a four-level hierarchy: window, workspace, area, panel. Panels are terminals (Ghostty), embedded browsers (WKWebView), or markdown viewers. Every panel has a handle addressable from outside the process over a socket.
Agents use that socket to split areas, spawn sub-agents into new panels, drive the browser (snapshot the accessibility tree, click elements, fill forms, evaluate JS), resize areas, and post role/status/progress to the sidebar. An agent needing human input raises a notification there instead of going silent.
Agents can also message other agents directly: if the target agent is idle the message starts a new turn; if it is busy the message queues until the current turn ends.
Who it’s for
Engineers running several Claude Code instances (or similar coding agents) in parallel on macOS, who want spatial layout and cross-agent observability without switching between many windows. The README states c11 assumes RAM and is built for a well-specced MacBook; an 8 GB MacBook Air is explicitly called out as a performance risk.
Try it
Install via Homebrew:
brew tap stage-11-agentics/c11
brew install --cask c11Or download the DMG directly. The app auto-updates via Sparkle. No daemon, no config scripts required. Prebuilt binaries for the remote daemon (c11d-remote) are available for darwin-amd64, darwin-arm64, linux-amd64, and linux-arm64 in the v1.1.0 release assets.
