What’s new here
The skill includes a Bash picker that draws a random combination from 36 operators, 25 organons, and 29 dimension prompts each time it runs. You can seed it for reproducibility, throttle method counts with --less or --more, and opt into a cooldown log that penalizes recently used combinations. All selection is local, with no network service or package installation needed.
What it does
The skill ships two variants: ideonomy-plain outputs portable lists and fenced ASCII tables; ideonomy-rich uses monospace diagrams where arrangement and symbols convey relationships. Both share the same catalog and inquiry workflow.
An exploration session picks operators, organons (structured tools for thought such as lists, charts, trees, or atlases), and dimension prompts. The agent works through those combinations, surfaces alternatives, relationships, assumptions, and gaps, and ends with a short assessment.
Scope controls how far the agent goes: quick favors distinct mechanisms, broad covers different regions, deep examines dependencies, exhaustive demands a bounded enumeration. The skill checks both whether the scope matches the request and whether all promised results are delivered.
Who it’s for
People who use Claude Code and want an agent to help them inspect and develop an idea space: alternatives, relationships, revealing failures, and questions worth pursuing. The ideonomy framing, drawn from Patrick Gunkel’s work and Grace Kind’s essays, suits exploratory work where you want to surface gaps and assumptions rather than produce a production plan.
Try it
Needs Bash and standard Unix tools (awk, sort, find, stat, sed, cut, date). Optional: figlet for richer titles. No package installation or network service required.
git clone https://github.com/latentwill/ideonomy-skill.git
mkdir -p .agents/skills
cp -R ideonomy-skill/ideonomy-plain .agents/skills/
# Optional:
cp -R ideonomy-skill/ideonomy-rich .agents/skills/Then ask the agent:
Explore alternatives to a neighborhood tool library without adding paid staff. Show the assumptions and the most useful next experiment.
For a reproducible method selection:
