What’s new here
This repo ships three interfaces together: a standalone prebuilt binary for terminal users, a Streamable HTTP MCP server for agents, and a Skill file generated by your locally installed CLI. The Skill installs into .agents/skills and works with Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, and Claude Code. Because the Skill is generated from the installed CLI version, it stays in sync with the commands you have.
What it does
The pwc binary searches the Papers with Code catalog, fetches paper metadata and stored Markdown, shows trending and recent papers, follows paper lineage (predecessors and successors), and explores the research taxonomy: tasks, methods, benchmarks, conferences, organizations, and frameworks.
All read commands are anonymous. No account or API token is needed. The MCP server exposes the same read commands as tools over Streamable HTTP, supporting MCP 2026-07-28 and legacy 2025-era clients from one endpoint.
Authenticated paper editing is a separate, scoped workflow. You log in per paper, get one hour of write access, and submit batched operations (evaluations, tasks, methods, linked repos, HF artifacts) as JSON. Batches are capped at 50 operations and 1 MiB. Invalid or stale batches write nothing.
Who it’s for
ML researchers who live in the terminal and want fast catalog lookups without a browser. Coding agent setups (Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, Claude Code) that need structured access to paper metadata, SOTA leaderboards, and benchmark data. Anyone maintaining Papers with Code entries who wants a scriptable edit workflow.
