What’s new here
Elide combines Kotlin, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python support into one runtime and toolchain. Instead of installing and managing a separate runtime for each language, you use a single entry point. The project has also moved to a source-available license, with the older open-source code still available on the v5 branch.
What it does
Elide is a runtime and toolchain that can execute JavaScript (ECMA2024), TypeScript, Python 3.11.x, Kotlin, and Pkl. You get one runtime that handles multiple languages without installing separate runtimes for each.
Releases are published to the GitHub repository. Documentation, guides, and samples are available at docs.elide.dev.
Who it’s for
Developers who work across Kotlin and JS/TS/Python ecosystems and want a single runtime and toolchain instead of managing separate installs for each language.

How mature is it
570 stars, 40 forks, 20 contributors. Over 100 releases published; latest is v1.6.0 (2026-10-16). The repo has been active since June 2022. Commit activity over the last 90 days is low (1 commit). The project has moved to a source-available license according to the README; the older open-source code lives on the v5 branch. GitHub reports no recognized license on the current main branch.
